ICC arrest warrants for Israel’s Netanyahu and Gallant, Hamas’s Deif
- The International Criminal Court issues warrants of arrest for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif.
- Lebanon’s southern Tyre district is being bombed by Israeli warplanes as the army issues a new round of forced evacuation threats.
- Israeli forces pound northern Gaza, killing 88 Palestinians in two waves of attacks on Beit Lahiya and the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of Gaza City.
- US envoy Amos Hochstein is in Israel to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a Lebanon ceasefire, one day after Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem demanded a complete ceasefire and “protection of Lebanon’s sovereignty” in any truce deal.
- The US Senate has rejected a bid to block arms shipments to Israel, shortly after Washington vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
- Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 44,056 Palestinians and wounded 104,286 since October 7, 2023. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were taken captive.
- In Lebanon, at least 3,558 people have been killed and 15,123 wounded in Israeli attacks since the war on Gaza began.
