In the past weeks, the affected communities, a number of civil society organizations and religious groups have been thinking of possible ways to avert the impending disaster. As attempts to initiate negotiations were not immediately successful, a suit for injunction was filed against the railway authorities on the last working day before the notice expired. The Court granted a stay order that has been extended twice. The affected people are now due in Court again on 26 April. We will post further information and proposals of new strategies just after.
