Brief narrative

According to BADIL, another 610,00 refugees remain uncounted in 2021. Since the 1967 refugees are 27% of the total of 1948 and 1967 refugees, the total to add in 2021 is 27% of 610,00 = 164,700

The West Bank is an area of extensive tree crops and farming, rangelands and valuable, if relatively scarce, water resources spanning 5,655 hectares. In total, the land area of the West Bank restricted from Palestinian use adds up to 38.3% of the West Bank. This includes 28.1% which is explicitly restricted from any Palestinian access or use and 10.2% West of the Separation Barrier, which is heavily restricted to Palestinian access (see Table 1). At the same time, the whole of Area C (59% of West Bank) is administered by the Israeli military authorities, including land administration and planning. The question arises therefore whether the balance of Area C land (20.7% of West Bank) is in fact freely available to the Palestinians for their development needs.
